ADAPT of Texas HOSTS A MANAGED CARE TOWN HALL MEETING

Discussing the Impact of Recent Service Changes

While changes to the Medicaid program have struck hard in South Texas, ADAPT of Texas, a statewide, grass-roots community organization that advocates on behalf of people with disabilities of all ages and older Texans, will be hosting a town hall meeting to share and discuss the impact of these changes with many recipients of Medicaid services as well as various health care leaders and stakeholders of our area.  This Town Hall Meeting will bring awareness and understanding on the impact of and alternatives to the recent changes that have the potential to drastically affect health services needed by people with disabilities and older Texans.  These individuals are the most in need for community services and are at-risk of going into more costly nursing homes inSouth Texas.

ADAPT will be hosting a Town Hall Meeting from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Thursday, July 26, 2012 at the “Victoria Palms” Ballroom in Donna, Texas.

Family members, consumer, workers, local state representatives, home care advocacy groups and representatives from managed care organizations are invited to serve in a discussion on the impact of recent service changes that have affected people who receive services and home care companies in our area.  Invited panel members will have an opportunity to respond to questions submitted by the audience during the symposium.
