Austin Cab,Yellow Cab and Lone Star Cabs provide wheelchair accessible taxi service in Austin. Having problems getting rides on those accessible taxi cabs? Texas My Medicaid Matters
Our My Medicaid Matters Campaign focuses on the Medicaid Program and any actions or changes by the Medicaid office and pulls together grassroots activists from around the state to respond to any attacks on the Medicaid program. In addition, the Campaign aims to educate policy makers about the importance of Medicaid as a safety net for the lowest income Texans. With a $5 billion deficit in Texas’ Medicaid program we have big job ahead of us! Join us.
In El Paso Desert ADAPT is joining with numerous other groups to form a local My Medicaid Matters Campaign.
Budget Blues
Texas’ so-called balanced budget is a sham. With a $5 BILLION deficit, funding for human services and supports ends about January 2013. Everyone is saying it will all work out, but with the hi-jinx at the Federal Level and the target painted on Medicaid, a lot remains at risk. Youth Involvement
Know a young person with a disability that wants to get involved in activism and community organizing? ADAPT wants to meet that youth! Medicaid Reform
ADAPT was in Washington DC last fall to call attention to the threats to Medicaid, America’s safety net for people with disabilities, seniors, children and low income families. Groups are following up in their own states — for more details go to the national ADAPT website. Here in Texas ADAPT is working with other disability, aging, worker and low income groups which have formed a My Medicaid Matters Campaign.
